  1. Submit both Parent/Guardian and Teen applications (Parent/Guardian Application) (Teen Application. Do this as soon as you can. The trips fill up.

  2. Within 2 weeks, we call you to set up an in-person or Facetime/Skype information interview and send you a link for you to fill in an online medical and emergency contact questionnaire. We will also provide you a gear list. We provide all the main gear including outer layers, backpack, tent, sleeping bag, insulating layers, cooking gear, water bottles, daypacks, and even hiking boots if you need them.

  3. We meet with you (parent/guardian and teen) to provide you information, answer questions you have, and learn a bit more about your grief journey.

  4. We all meet each other (hikers, leaders, parents, and other Wild Grief volunteers) at the cookout orientation in Olympia on July 20th. There you will get a feel for the hike, get any questions answered, and learn some backpacking skills. You will also eat good food and have some fun.
