Every grief hike begins with an opening circle, an acknowledgement of who is here and who we are carrying in our hearts. Then we walk in silence for 10 minutes. Soon the group morphs and changes, forming small groupings or solitary walkers. We acknowledge that each of us is somewhere in our grief journey and all are welcome. We will stop occasionally on the trail to share or just notice in silence. We will end back at the shelter where we began and have a closing circle.

Give Local Fundraising Campaign

Give Local is an online giving campaign hosted by The Community Foundation of South Puget Sound. Local sponsors cover all credit card processing fees, ensuring that we receive 100% of your donations - plus, we’ll get a boost from a matching bonus fund! Word has spread about Wild Grief, and although we had 60% more participants this year (350+), all of our overnight programs had a waitlist. We need your contributions to help us fill a clear community need for grief support and the healing power of nature. Help us reach our goal of $18,000 and 150 donors! Give Local is the most effective way to donate to Wild Grief.
