july 8 Hike Habit Bob Bammert Grove

Bob Bammert Grove  hike is in a beautiful pocket of forest in the south part of Thurston County.  It is a special spot but a drawback is you can often hear distant sound of guns from a nearby firing range. This hike is short only about a mile, but it does go up and down hill moderately. Meet at trail head at 11am on Bordeaux Rd. off of Waddle Creek/Mima Road. Go through town of Littlerock and up the hill to a T where you will turn left on Mima Rd for 1.3 miles then turn right on Bordeaux Rd follow it 2.5 miles to the Trailhead. Bordeaux road splits to the right at 1.5 miles, stay on the left section. The parking area is small so as always we encourage car pooling.  Bring a water bottle, snacks if you need, and good shoes. Discover Pass required.

Every grief hike begins with an opening circle, an acknowledgement of who is here and who we are carrying in our hearts. Then we walk in silence for 10 minutes. Soon the group morphs and changes, small groupings or solitary walkers.  Conversations can be deep or light, mixing the here and now with our shut away places. And there are times of walking with another in silence. We know each of us is somewhere in their grief journey and all are welcome. We end with a closing circle.
