June 26 Hike Habit Trail of the Deer

  • Lewis & Clark State Park 4583 Jackson Highway Toledo, WA, 98591 United States (map)

Join us at Lewis & Clark State Park in Lewis County for our monthly Grief Hike. We will hike the Trail of the Deer. From Washington Trails Association, “If you'd like to add on an adventure, hike the Trail of the Deer among massive columns of western redcedars and Douglas-firs,where ferns, vine maples and rhododendrons adorn the trailside. Watch for woodpeckers, Steller's jays and great horned owls in the canopy overhead.”

Every grief hike begins with an opening circle, an acknowledgement of who is here and who we are carrying in our hearts. Then we walk in silence for 10 minutes. After our silent time, the group morphs and changes, small groupings or solitary walkers. Conversations can be deep or light, mixing the here and now with our shut away places. We know each of us is somewhere in their grief journey and all are welcome. We end with a closing circle.

Registration is required. We will cap participation at 14 and our COVID Safety Policy will be in place for this hike.
