Winter Solstice Grief Care
As the days grow short and the nights long, we feel the darkness wrapping around us, sinking more and more into the folds of winter. We arrive like a big exhale on today, this winter solstice, the longest night of the year, the central moment of stillness in our seasonal journey.
We invite you to pause and find time to be cradled by the dark, to rest and listen to the quiet stillness here.
To pull the veil of night up to your chin and snuggle down into the deep places and breathe.
To let the darkness hold you, wrap you in its quiet wisdom, to remind you that rest is not a pause in the journey, but a vital part of it. In this place there is nothing to fix, simply letting all that is just be.
To take time to tend to the tender places within and listen to the quiet whispers of your heart and to trust the promise of light's return.
For many this time of year is difficult, for those grieving loss of life or the loss of light. We have put together a Winter Solstice Grief Care Booklet that includes a new winter guided walk, a link to a playlist, recommended books and podcasts, some poetry, tea and simmer pot recipes, and some grief activities.
Sometimes we have a tendency to isolate when going through it. Though reflective time alone can be an important part of our process, we know that we need each other and need community as well, so we encourage you to share and explore this booklet with someone you care about.
We hope it brings some sweetness and helps rejuvenate what is weary in you.
